Rome Marathon
The Rome Marathon is set to be run on the 16th of March. During this time, Rome is turned into a zero traffic zone and street carnivals are set up once thje traffic has gone.
As well as the competitive Marathon, there is also a fun run which is open to all comers.
Marathone Village, food stalls, toilets, shuttle services, police services and first aid points will also be available so that everyone can enjoy themselves in total peace of mind.
RBS 6 Nations
Italy v Scotland in the RBS 6 nations Rugby Union at the Flaminio Stadium on the 15th of March 2008.
Tickets for the event are available from 22 euros and can usually be bought on the day. This match is the last in the 5 match series between the Rugby Union playing nations. It is likely to be the match that decides which nation gets the wooden spoon as both teams languish at the bottom of the table.
Good Friday
On Good Friday (21st of March 2008) a torch lit procession moves from the Via Crucis to the Colleseum and up to the Mont Palatino re-enacting the 14 stations of the cross, from the death of Jesus to the placement of his body in the tomb.
This is a fantastic event to watch and even if you aren't a believer it is well worth the effort to watch.
Masters Tennis
The Masters series starts in May and with 120 of the worlds top players competiting for the big prizes in this ranking event.
